Lincolnshire born watercolourist David Rust
studied at Loughborough College of Art in the early 1960's. He has worked as a full time artist since the late 1970's, a prolific painter dedicated to his job and a great lover of the English countryside, particularly the Welsh border, Herefordshire, the Cotswolds and south Cornwall, where he has lived since 1990.
The inspiration for his painting comes from the constant observation of his surroundings recorded in sketchbooks and later developed in his studio. During the 1980's he had work accepted regularly for the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour exhibitions at the Mall Galleries, London. During the last year or so he has also begun to develop his skill as a painter in oil on canvas, still in his own very distinct style, many of which we have in addition to his watercolours at the Roundhouse Gallery, Sennen Cove.
His work continues to enjoy an ever growing demand and can be found in private collections, not only in this country but as far afield as America, Japan and Australia.
